The Swedish Vallhund Society is raising money for the Animal Health Trust to test cheek swabs for DNA markers for the breed to help keep our breed healthier in years to come.
The Vallhund is currently one of the healthiest breeds around but because we have a small gene pool, we have to be careful with our matings to ensure they stay this way.
By testing the DNA of the lines within our breed, we can ensure that we are mating in the best possible way to keep the best possible health that our breed deserves.
