SWEDISH VALLHUND SOCIETY JUDGES CRITERIA

 

A1 LIST

For persons who have previously been approved by the Kennel Club to award Challenge Certificates in the breed and have completed their first appointment. These persons will have the support of the Swedish Vallhund Society.

A2 LIST

For persons who fulfil all the requirements of the A3 list and who have been assessed in accordance with Kennel Club requirements and accepted by the Kennel Club for inclusion on an A2 list and have the support of the Swedish Vallhund Society.

A3 LIST [Breed Specialist]

Minimum of 7 years judging experience in the breed and have the support of the Swedish Vallhund Society.

To have judged a minimum of 40 classes or 50 dogs

To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs when they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud book [save in exceptional circumstances]

To have stewarded over a minimum period of 3 years and at 12 shows.

To have judged the breed at Open Shows, or Championship Shows without Challenge Certificates, the shows, having an adequate geographical spread.

To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures.

To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Confirmation and Movement.

To have attended a Conformation and Movement 'Hands On Assessment' given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the assessment.

To have attended at least one breed specific judging seminar held by the Swedish Vallhund Society and run in accordance with the Kennel Club Code of Best Practice, and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable. 

A3 LIST [Non Breed Specialist]

Minimum of 7 years judging experience in the breed and have the support of the Swedish Vallhund Society.

To have judged a minimum of 40 classes or 50 dogs.

To have awarded Challenge Certificates in at least one other breed.

To have judged the breed at Open Shows, or Championship Shows without Challenge Certificates, the shows, having an adequate geographical spread.

To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs of any breed when they have obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book. [save in exceptional circumstances]

To have attended at least one breed specific judging seminar held by the Swedish Vallhund Society and run in accordance with the Kennel Club Code of Best Practice, and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable. 

B LIST [Breed Specialist]

To have 5 years experience owning and exhibiting in this breed and have the support of the Swedish Vallhund Society.

To have judged 12 classes or 15 dogs of this breed at Open Shows, or Championship shows without Challenge Certificates.

To have attended at least one breed specific judging seminar held by the Swedish Vallhund Society and run in accordance with the Kennel Club Code of Best Practice, and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable.

B LIST [Non Breed Specialist]

To have judged 15 classes or 30 dogs of this breed at Open Shows, or Championship shows without Challenge Certificates.

To have attended at least one breed specific judging seminar held by the Swedish Vallhund Society and run in accordance with the Kennel Club Code of Best Practice, and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable.

Any person who judges at group level in the Kennel Club Pastoral/Working Groups, and showing an interest in judging the breed.

C LIST [Breed & Non Breed Specialists]

For aspiring Judges who have shown an interest in the breed and have the support of the Swedish Vallhund Society.

Listings would normally include persons who have judged the breed at Limited and Open Shows and do not yet qualify for the B lists.
